BBDW 14 [Black Butterfly] - Nevereverland
Section 14 (UNEDITED)
-The situation was clear. A large amount of arsenic was detected, and police immediately arrested Mrs Rochester after the poison, which might have reached the lethal dose if Tim had eaten a few more, was found in the cookies. The woman looked puzzled until she was taken to the police station, and when he told her what had happened, she shuddered and said, “That can’t be true.”
The woman denied all the charges with tears, but that attitude turned her back against her, and she was charged with the murder of the disappeared Rice family members. She is a female pleasure killer who feels joy from her daily life while feeding poison to people around her. The situation was already tantamount to a fait accompli. Jude, who was outside watching the scene of the woman’s interrogation, tilted his head while he was thinking – though it does not look at all serious – got up and headed to the hospital where Tim was.
When he kicked open the door of his partner’s room a little insincerely, saying he had been treated with gastric lavage, Tim lying on the bed with an IV injection laughed.
“Hey, I really thought I’m going to die.”
“Yes. You’re fine. That’s a relief. It’s the first time I’ve ever felt so fortunate that you don’t like sweets.”
“Hahaha……. Really.”
“But it’s not Mrs Rochester.”
Suddenly, Tim opened his mouth while looking at Jude with a stunned look on his face.
“What? What do you mean?”
“Mrs Rochester’s been taken in. She’s being interrogated, and she’s being accused of everything. It’s a little weird no matter how I look at it. The two members of the missing Rice family are still missing. The culprit hid it quite cleverly. But how can she mix arsenic in the cookies she made for us? She can’t be that stupid.”
“Well, in context… but the evidence is …”
“Yes, if we look at the evidence, she has to be the culprit, at least for the attempted murder against us since she’s the one who made the cookies. So I’m thinking of going to the house now. We need to know which ingredients were mixed with arsenic.”
Jude, who looked at Tim with a very, very serious face for a moment, soon smiled and shrugged.
“I thought I should have let the Tim-who-came-back-from-the-dead, know about this.”
“Yes, thank you. Take care.”
“Okay. Take a rest… Oh, Tim. Should I get some cookies when I come again?”
“Shut up.”
Little giggles came and went, and Jude walked out of the hospital room with a swaying gait. The thought of how troublesome it was to drive, filled his head for a moment.
